The Napoleon Ascent 30-inch Electronic Ignition Direct Vent Natural Gas Fireplace, delivers a traditional built-in fireplace appearance in a compact size that works well for rooms where space is limited. With a maximum input of 15,000 BTUs, a realistic log presentation, and a dependable pan-style burner, the Ascent 30 creates a classic gas fireplace focal point while offering the installation flexibility of a direct vent gas fireplace.

The B30NTRE-1 uses electronic ignition with an On Demand intermittent pilot ignition system. In IPI mode, the pilot automatically ignites before the main burner when the fireplace is turned on and shuts down when the fireplace is turned off. The electronic system also supports a continuous pilot mode with an integrated seven-day timer, providing additional flexibility for colder climates while helping reduce unnecessary pilot fuel consumption during periods when the fireplace is not being used.

The firebox includes a pan-style burner with flame and heat adjustment, allowing the flame presentation to be adjusted to suit the desired atmosphere. A log set is included for a traditional wood-burning appearance, while the tempered heat-resistant glass provides a clear view of the flames. A standard safety barrier is also included and must remain installed during operation.

The direct vent system uses a dedicated 4-inch exhaust and 7-inch air intake configuration. Direct vent technology brings combustion air through the venting system while exhausting combustion gases outdoors, allowing the fireplace to operate without relying on a traditional chimney. The B30NTRE-1 supports top or rear venting, giving installers additional flexibility when planning the fireplace location and vent route.

The appliance rating information specifies 115V, 60Hz, less than 12 amps. The fireplace must be properly wired and grounded according to applicable electrical codes. The electronic ignition control also includes the battery back-up capability described above. Wall switches, thermostats, and gas valve controls must not be connected directly to 110/115-volt power unless specifically instructed by the installation manual.

The Ascent 30 can also be customized with a variety of optional accessories. Available choices include the MIRRO-FLAME heat-radiating reflective black porcelain panels, Heritage and Zen decorative fronts, finishing trim, and alternative decorative media. When optional media is used with the B30, the RR30 support bracket is required.
