Napoleon High Definition See-Thru Direct Vent Natural Gas Fireplace

The Napoleon High Definition Electronic Ignition Direct Vent Natural Gas Fireplace combines a large see-through fireplace design with powerful performance and extensive customization options. Designed for built-in installations between two adjoining spaces, the HD81 allows the flames to be enjoyed from both sides of the fireplace, creating a striking architectural focal point while extending the fireplace experience into two rooms.

Powered by natural gas, the HD81NT-1 delivers up to 60,000 BTUs of input and uses an electronic ignition system for convenient operation. The fireplace is equipped with a split-flow burner system, allowing the second burner to be turned on or off through the control system for greater flexibility in the flame presentation. 

A ProFlame II remote control is included for convenient fireplace operation. The control system provides adjustment of power and flame height along with temperature functions, accent lighting, split-flow control, and blower speed when the optional heat-circulating blower is installed. The flame can be adjusted through six levels, allowing the appearance of the fire to be changed without having to access controls inside the fireplace.

The HD81NT-1 also incorporates an On Demand electronic pilot ignition system with both intermittent pilot ignition (IPI) and continuous pilot ignition (CPI) modes. In IPI mode, the pilot lights when there is a call for the fireplace to operate and shuts down with the main burner. CPI mode can keep the pilot operating during colder conditions, while an integrated seven-day timer helps reduce unnecessary fuel use when the fireplace has not been operated.

Included accent top lights add another layer to the firebox presentation. The fireplace is equipped with two pre-wired Night Lights that can be controlled from the remote, including multiple intensity levels. This lighting helps illuminate the selected logs, rocks, glass media, and decorative panels even when a lower flame setting is preferred.

The heat-radiating ceramic glass provides a clear view through the fireplace while the included premium safety barrier helps reduce the risk of accidental contact with the hot viewing glass. The clean-face design keeps the emphasis on the fire rather than exposed controls or mechanical components.

The HD81NT-1 uses a sealed direct vent system that brings combustion air in from outdoors and directs combustion exhaust outside rather than relying on room air for combustion. The fireplace uses a top 8-inch exhaust and 11-inch air intake vent system. Approved horizontal and vertical vent configurations are available, and all venting must follow the manufacturer's installation requirements.

The HD81NT-1 is rated at 115 volts, 0.82 amps, 60 Hz. The installation manual states that the appliance must be hard wired, with the appliance junction box connected according to applicable electrical codes. A properly grounded electrical circuit is required. 

The HD81NT-1 is a configurable base fireplace and requires one burner assembly to complete the fireplace and one decorative panel configuration must also be selected.
