Majestic 30-inch Ruby Freestanding Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Majestic 30-inch Ruby Freestanding Direct Vent Gas Fireplace brings the warmth and traditional appearance of a gas fireplace into rooms that do not have an existing masonry fireplace or framed firebox. The floor-standing design combines the Ruby 30-inch fireplace engine with a clean black steel cabinet and pedestal-style base, creating a finished hearth feature without requiring a conventional mantel or built-in wall enclosure.

The freestanding configuration is available as the RUBY30IN natural gas model or the RUBY30IL propane model. Natural gas operation ranges from 22,890 to 32,700 BTU per hour, while the propane model operates from 22,400 to 32,000 BTU per hour. The fireplace is intended for supplemental room heating or decorative use and should not be treated as the primary heating system for a residence.

A realistic fire presentation is created by an eight-piece ceramic fiber split-log set, Glowing Embers, Mystic Embers and a wide ceramic-glass viewing area. The glass measures approximately 27-1/2 inches wide by 15-15/16 inches high, providing a generous view of the flames within the compact freestanding cabinet.

The Ruby includes a factory-installed GFK-160A variable-speed convection fan rated at approximately 160 CFM. The fan helps move heated air from the fireplace into the room, while the adjustable burner and fan settings allow heat output to be matched more closely to comfort needs. 

The included IntelliFire Touch ignition system provides electronic intermittent-pilot operation and advanced fireplace controls. The supplied IFT-RC400 touchscreen remote controls on/off operation, flame height, fan speed, thermostat mode, room-temperature display, timer mode, child lock and Cold Climate pilot mode. It also provides a hot-surface indicator and on-screen maintenance and troubleshooting notifications.

Creating the complete freestanding fireplace requires the selected Ruby fireplace engine, the CK-30 black steel cabinet with pedestal base, the ADP-CK30 top-vent adapter kit and the INFIT-30-BK black inside-fit safety screen front. These completion components and the approved venting system are sold separately. The fireplace must not be operated without the approved safety barrier properly installed.

The complete assembled fireplace measures approximately 33 inches wide by 35-5/8 inches high by 19-3/8 inches deep. Because it is a freestanding appliance, no framed wall cutout or existing fireplace opening is required. 

The appliance requires continuous, unswitched 110-120 VAC electrical power for normal IntelliFire Touch operation and the convection fan. The grounded three-prong plug must be connected directly to a properly grounded receptacle without removing the grounding prong. GFCI protection is required where applicable under electrical codes, and low-voltage control wiring must not share an electrical box with line-voltage wiring.

Before initial operation, the installer must confirm that the cabinet and fireplace engine are level and secured, the vent adapter gasket is undamaged, the vent system is locked and supported, the gas connections are leak-free and the log and ember materials are positioned according to the Ruby installation manual. The glass seal plate, fixed glass assembly and INFIT safety barrier must all be installed correctly before the fireplace is operated.

During the initial break-in, operate the fireplace continuously on high for approximately three to four hours with the fan set to high. Provide room ventilation because paint, manufacturing oils and nearby finishing materials may release temporary odors. Allow the fireplace to cool completely and clean the ceramic glass with an approved non-abrasive gas-fireplace glass cleaner.
