Majestic 36-inch Pier Direct Vent Multi Side Gas Fireplace

The Majestic 36-inch Pier Direct Vent Multi-Side Gas Fireplace creates a striking room-divider or peninsula-style focal point with views of the fire from three sides. Model PIER-DV36IN features two long viewing sides and one end-viewing panel, allowing the flames to be enjoyed from multiple seating areas while the solid service end conceals the gas, electrical and control components.

The PIER-DV36IN is factory-configured for natural gas and provides an adjustable input range of 21,000 to 38,000 BTU per hour. An approved LPK-MS36-IFT conversion kit is available for propane installations.

A detailed seven-piece ceramic-fiber log assembly creates the look of naturally arranged split firewood from each viewing angle. Glowing ember material adds color around the burner, while lava rock creates a more realistic ash-bed appearance. The standard firebox uses a black steel interior, and the fireplace includes tempered fixed-glass assemblies that form part of the sealed combustion system.

The PIER-DV36IN uses direct vent technology to draw combustion air from outside the building and discharge combustion exhaust outdoors. Because combustion is isolated from the room, no additional outside-air kit is required. The appliance is intended for indoor installation and is not approved as an indoor/outdoor fireplace.

The included IntelliFire Touch intermittent-pilot ignition system provides dependable electronic ignition and features a nine-hour automatic safety shutdown when the appliance operates continuously without receiving a control command. Standard equipment includes the IntelliFire Touch control module, 12-foot control wire, junction box, six-volt transformer, gas flex connector, manual gas shutoff valve and emergency battery-backup system.

The fireplace must be completed with two MSFR-36-BK black Multi-Side Firescreen Fronts and one MSEP-36-BK black Multi-Side End Panel, all sold separately. 

The PIER-DV36IN can be configured for either top or rear direct venting. The vent direction must be selected during appliance preparation because it cannot be changed after the top or rear seal cap has been removed. The first vent section must be attached with the supplied vent gasket and secured to the appliance as directed in the installation manual.

An unswitched 110–120 VAC electrical supply must be connected using a minimum 14-2 AWG cable with ground. Household voltage must never be connected directly to the ignition module, gas valve or low-voltage wall switch, and line-voltage and low-voltage wiring must not share the same wall box. GFCI protection is required where applicable under local electrical codes.

Professional installation is required. Before initial operation, a qualified technician must verify the fuel type, inlet and manifold pressures, gas connections, electrical wiring, vent orientation, vent configuration, air-shutter setting, log placement, ember and lava-rock placement, glass seals and all three protective firescreen panels. All packaging and the protective splatter guard must be removed before the fireplace is lit.

The initial break-in procedure requires operating the fireplace continuously on high for approximately three to four hours, allowing it to cool completely and then cleaning the fixed glass. Additional burn time may be required if odors from the fireplace or surrounding finishing materials remain. Annual inspection and service by a qualified technician are recommended.
