Majestic 36-inch Twilight Indoor Outdoor See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Majestic 36-inch Twilight Indoor/Outdoor See-Through Gas Fireplace creates a continuous view of the fire between an interior living space and an adjoining outdoor area. Installed directly through an exterior wall, its two-sided design provides the appearance of two fireplaces while using a single firebox. The traditional interior, realistic ceramic fiber log set, glowing embers and lava rock create a natural-looking flame presentation that can be enjoyed from both sides.

The Twilight is a direct vent indoor/outdoor gas fireplace, not a vent-free appliance. Combustion air is drawn from outdoors and exhaust is discharged directly outdoors through the integrated exterior side of the fireplace. Because the unit terminates through the wall, it does not require a conventional chimney or separate vertical vent run. All exterior termination, window, door, soffit, overhang and air-intake clearances must still be maintained.

IntelliFire Touch intermittent pilot ignition provides dependable electronic ignition and includes a battery backup system for operation during a power outage. The fireplace has a constant burn rate controlled by a non-adjustable gas valve, so flame height cannot be varied. Compatible optional controls include the IntelliFire Touch wireless wall switch, touchscreen remote and Wi-Fi module. When an optional thermostat-capable control is used, temperature control operates by cycling the fireplace on and off rather than modulating the flame.

The fireplace is factory-built for natural gas and produces up to 38,000 BTUs. It may be converted for propane using the approved LPK-TWI-IFT conversion kit, providing up to 36,000 BTUs. A gas flex connector, manual gas shutoff valve, junction box, battery backup, traditional refractory, log set, glowing embers and exterior front are included. One approved interior decorative barrier front is required and sold separately.

The appliance measures approximately 43 inches wide by 46-7/8 inches high by 24 inches deep. Required rough framing is approximately 44 inches wide by 47-5/8 inches high by 23 inches deep. The indoor opening shown in the appliance diagram measures approximately 36-1/4 inches wide by 21-1/2 inches high, while the outdoor glass area measures approximately 35-5/8 inches wide by 21-1/8 inches high. Framing dimensions assume 1/2-inch wall covering on the exterior of the framing and no sheetrock on the interior of the framed cavity.

Professional installation is required. The exterior side of the fireplace must never be recessed into the framing. The appliance may be positioned flush with the interior wall, flush with the exterior insulated envelope or between those positions, provided any projection is enclosed in a properly constructed chase. The exterior assembly must be correctly insulated, flashed, sealed and finished to maintain the building envelope and prevent water infiltration.

The appliance requires an unswitched 110–120-volt electrical supply connected to the junction box. The IntelliFire Touch system operates through a 6-volt transformer and can use four AA batteries during an emergency power outage. Batteries are not intended to serve as the normal long-term power source. A ground-fault circuit interrupter may be required in bathrooms, near sinks or wherever required by applicable electrical codes.

The included exterior front is paired with a separately purchased interior front. Compatible options include the FS-TWI-BK traditional firescreen front and the TWI-MOD-BK contemporary overlapping front.
