Majestic 36-inch Twilight Modern Indoor Outdoor See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Majestic 36-inch Twilight Modern Indoor/Outdoor See-Through Direct Vent Gas Fireplace creates a seamless connection between an interior living space and an adjoining outdoor area. Installed through an exterior wall, its two-sided firebox provides an uninterrupted view of the flames from both sides while requiring only one fireplace installation. The contemporary presentation combines reflective black glass refractory panels with black glass rock media for a clean, modern appearance.

This indoor/outdoor see-through gas fireplace is a direct vent appliance with an integrated exterior termination. Combustion air is drawn from outside the building and combustion gases are discharged outdoors, so no additional outside-air kit or conventional chimney system is required. The exterior termination must still comply with all required clearances from windows, doors, corners, air intakes, electrical service, siding, soffits and overhangs.

The Twilight Modern is equipped with the IntelliFire Touch intermittent pilot ignition system for dependable electronic ignition. A built-in battery backup allows the fireplace to operate during a power outage using four AA batteries. 

The natural gas configuration produces up to 38,000 BTUs, while an approved propane configuration produces up to 36,000 BTUs. The appliance includes a manual gas shutoff valve, flexible gas connector, junction box, battery backup, reflective black glass refractory, black glass media and an exterior barrier front. A certified propane conversion must be completed by a qualified technician using the approved LPK-TWI-IFT conversion kit.

The appliance measures approximately 43 inches wide by 46-7/8 inches high by 24 inches deep. The required framing or cutout opening is approximately 44 inches wide by 47-5/8 inches high by 23 inches deep. The indoor opening measures approximately 36-1/4 inches wide by 21-1/2 inches high, while the outdoor glass area measures approximately 35-5/8 inches wide by 21-1/8 inches high.

One approved interior decorative barrier front is required and sold separately. The TWI-MOD-BK contemporary front provides the intended overlapping modern appearance, but the appliance must be elevated at least 3/4 inch above the floor or elevated hearth to use this front. When the appliance is installed directly on the floor or level with a hearth, the FS-TWI-BK firescreen front must be used instead. 

Professional through-wall installation is required. The exterior side of the fireplace must never be recessed into the framing. It may be installed flush with the exterior wall, flush with the interior wall or positioned between those points, with a maximum projection of 24 inches. Any interior or exterior projection must be enclosed by a properly constructed chase, and the exterior must be insulated, flashed, sealed and finished to preserve the building’s weather-resistant envelope.

An unswitched 110–120-volt electrical circuit wired with a minimum 14-2 AWG cable and ground is required. The junction box must not be connected to a switched circuit, and household voltage must never be connected directly to the ignition module or low-voltage wall control. GFCI protection is required where specified by electrical codes, including applicable installations near sinks or in bathrooms.

The fireplace uses a 1/2-inch NPT gas connection. Natural gas inlet pressure must remain between 5 and 10 inches water column, with a 3.5-inch manifold pressure. Propane inlet pressure must remain between 11 and 13 inches water column, with a 10-inch manifold pressure. Gas-line installation, conversion, pressure testing, purging and leak testing must be completed by a qualified gas professional.
