Majestic 48-inch Lanai See-Thru Outdoor Vent-Free Linear Fireplace

The Majestic 48-Inch Lanai See-Through Outdoor Linear Gas Fireplace creates a striking two-sided fire feature for patios, pool areas, outdoor kitchens, and other properly ventilated outdoor living spaces. Its wide 47-7/8 W x 17 H-inch viewing area allows the flames and illuminated media bed to be enjoyed from both sides of an outdoor wall or freestanding architectural feature.

Designed with a sleek linear profile, the Lanai combines 55,000 BTUs of flame presentation with outdoor-rated construction, glass wind guards, and a multicolored LED ember bed. The LED lighting adds depth beneath the flames and can remain illuminated when the burner is turned off, allowing the fireplace to continue serving as a decorative outdoor focal point.

The ODLANAIGST-48 is a see-through outdoor gas fireplace, meaning both sides of the firebox are open for viewing. It is listed for outdoor use only and should not be treated as an indoor/outdoor pass-through fireplace. Both viewing sides must be installed within qualifying outdoor spaces and must maintain all required clearances, finishing requirements, and access for operation and service.

This fireplace uses an open-front, vent-free outdoor design. It does not require a chimney or vent pipe because combustion products discharge through the two open viewing sides. Although some product catalogs group the Lanai with outdoor linear gas fireplaces, the model-specific installation manual states that no venting is required. The firebox openings and surrounding outdoor ventilation must remain unobstructed.

The included IntelliFire intermittent-pilot ignition system automatically lights the burner at the press of the wall control. The fireplace is supplied with an outdoor-rated control panel and a 15-foot wire harness, allowing the control assembly to be mounted within approximately 14 feet of the appliance. The wall control operates the flame, LED brightness, and LED color functions.

Two outdoor-rated LED strips illuminate the crystal media from below. Lighting intensity can be set to high, medium, low, or off. Color settings include blue, violet, red, yellow, green, cyan, and white, along with normal color fade, slow color fade, and a pause function that holds the lighting on a selected color.

The fireplace includes clear crystal glass media and two deflection-glass panels that function as wind guards.

The deflection-glass panels are not fireplace doors. Glass doors must never be installed on this appliance because they can cause the fireplace and adjacent construction to overheat. An optional ODLANAIG-48SCN framed screen barrier is available to help keep leaves, sticks, and other outdoor debris out of the firebox. The appliance may be operated with the approved screen installed.

The ODLANAIGST-48 is manufactured for natural gas and produces a maximum input of 55,000 BTUs. It may be converted to propane with the approved LPK-ODLANAIG48 conversion kit, with the propane configuration also rated at 55,000 BTUs. Fuel conversion, gas-line installation, pressure testing, purging, and leak testing must be performed by a qualified gas-service professional.

The fireplace structure may be covered with brick, stone, tile, concrete board, stucco, or another approved non-combustible finishing material. Mantels and other wall projections must follow the model-specific clearance diagrams. As examples, a combustible projection extending 2-1/2 inches requires at least 18 inches above the opening, while a 12-inch-deep combustible projection requires at least 24 inches.

The Lanai must be installed in a qualifying outdoor living space. An acceptable area may have walls on all sides with no overhead cover; an overhead cover with no more than two sidewalls; or an overhead cover with three sidewalls when at least 30% of the enclosure's horizontal perimeter remains permanently open.

Electrical requirements: The fireplace requires an unswitched 110-120 VAC, 60 Hz electrical supply with a total load of less than 12 amperes. The circuit must be GFCI protected and properly grounded. The junction box is located on the right side of the appliance and cannot be relocated to the left side. Low-voltage control wiring and 110-120 VAC wiring cannot share the same wall box.

Gas requirements: The appliance uses a 1/2-inch gas connection and manual shutoff valve. Natural gas requires an inlet pressure between 5 and 10.5 inches water column, with 7 inches recommended and a 3.5-inch manifold pressure. Propane requires an inlet pressure between 11 and 13 inches water column, with 12 inches recommended and a 10-inch manifold pressure.

All gas fittings must be checked with an approved combustible-gas detector or non-corrosive leak-detection solution. Never use an open flame to test for gas leaks. The appliance and manual shutoff valve must be isolated from gas-line pressure testing above 1/2 PSIG.
