Majestic Jade 42-inch Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Majestic Jade 42-inch Direct Vent Gas Fireplace creates a wide, contemporary focal point with a continuous ribbon of flame across a streamlined linear firebed. Standard bronze glass media reflects the flames for added depth and visual movement, while the expansive tempered-glass viewing area provides a clear view of the fire. Choose model JADE42IN-B for natural gas or model JADE42IL-B for propane to match the available fuel supply.

The natural gas JADE42IN-B has an adjustable input range of 17,500 to 25,250 BTU per hour, while the propane JADE42IL-B operates from 17,500 to 23,500 BTU per hour. The variable burn rate allows the flame height to be adjusted when the fireplace is paired with an appropriate optional control. The Jade is intended to provide supplemental room heat and decorative ambiance and should not be used as the primary heating source for a home.

A compatible decorative barrier front is required and sold separately. Current front options include Clean Face Trim in black, gun metal or new bronze and a black Picture Frame Front. The safety mesh is integrated into the selected decorative front, and the fireplace must never be operated without the approved barrier properly installed.

Professional installation is required. The JADE42IN-B and JADE42IL-B are top-vent-only direct vent fireplaces with a 4-inch by 6-5/8-inch vent collar and must use approved Hearth & Home Technologies SLP venting components. A typical horizontal termination requires at least 12 inches of vertical vent above the appliance before installing a 90-degree elbow, although the complete vent configuration must comply with the applicable vent table in the installation manual. Approved SLP-FLEX may also be used, but most configurations require a 25% reduction in allowable horizontal vent length. Vent parts, fittings and joining methods from different manufacturers must not be mixed, and the fireplace requires a dedicated vent that terminates outdoors.

The fireplace requires an unswitched 110–120 VAC electrical supply wired with a minimum 14-2 AWG cable and ground. Household voltage must never be connected directly to the ignition module or low-voltage wall switch. Standard installation allows zero clearance to a combustible wood floor and does not require a hearth, but the appliance must rest across its full width and depth on a hard metal or wood surface and must not be installed directly on carpeting or vinyl flooring. Maintain at least 1/2 inch behind and along the sides of the appliance, 36 inches of clear space in front and 31 inches from the top of the fireplace opening to the room ceiling.
