Majestic Jasper Medium 30-inch Direct Vent Gas Insert

The Majestic Jasper Medium 30-inch Direct Vent Gas Insert transforms an existing wood-burning fireplace into a cleaner, more convenient source of supplemental warmth. Designed for natural gas, model JASPER30IN combines a traditional fire presentation with six hand-painted ceramic fiber split logs, glowing embers and lava rock for the familiar appearance of a wood fire without the work of carrying, storing or cleaning up firewood.

The Jasper delivers an adjustable natural gas input range of 21,000 to 30,000 BTU per hour. An approved LPK-MI-IPI conversion kit is available for propane installations, providing an input range of 19,600 to 28,000 BTU per hour. The fireplace is intended for supplemental room heat and decorative use rather than as the primary heating source for a home.

Direct vent technology uses separate intake and exhaust liners to draw combustion air through the existing chimney and direct combustion exhaust outside. This sealed system helps maintain indoor air quality while allowing the Jasper to achieve an EnerGuide efficiency rating of approximately 68% with natural gas or 70% after an approved propane conversion. Ceramic viewing glass transfers heat into the room while providing a clear view of the flames.

A compatible decorative barrier front and metal surround are required and sold separately. Front options include the Clean Screen Front in black or new bronze, the Contemporary Arch Screen Front in black or new bronze and the black Inside Fit Screen Front. Surround choices include 40-inch by 27-inch small surrounds, 42-inch by 30-inch medium surrounds, a black 42-inch by 30-inch by 2-inch-deep surround, 44-inch by 32-inch large surrounds and customizable surround options. The required protective barrier must remain installed whenever the insert is operated.

Approved vertical venting is required to complete the installation. The Jasper uses two flexible liners through the existing chimney: one for exhaust and one for combustion air. Compatible termination kits include LINK-DV30B, LINKSQB-DV30, LINKSQC-DV30, LINK-DV4-30B and corresponding square-cap configurations. The approved vent system requires a minimum vertical length of 10 feet and a maximum of 50 feet. Horizontal termination is not permitted, and bends in the exhaust liner should be minimized for proper performance.

An accessible 110–120 VAC grounded receptacle is required for normal IntelliFire operation and optional accessories. The receptacle may be installed in a lower rear corner of the existing fireplace, or the supplied cord may be routed to a nearby outlet. Household voltage must never be connected directly to the gas valve or low-voltage wall switch. Gas-line installation, leak testing, fuel conversion, venting and appliance setup must be performed by a qualified installer or licensed service professional.
