Majestic Meridian Direct Vent Fireplace

The Majestic Meridian Direct Vent Gas Fireplace combines a broad traditional fire presentation with flexible installation options and dependable supplemental heat. Available in 36-inch and 42-inch sizes, the Meridian is offered in natural gas and propane configurations.

Each Meridian fireplace includes a detailed seven-piece ceramic fiber log set, a factory-shipped base refractory and glowing ember material that adds color and depth around the burner. The larger viewing area and redesigned log arrangement create a natural-looking focal point suited to living rooms, family rooms, bedrooms and other indoor spaces.

The Meridian uses direct vent technology to draw combustion air from outside the building and discharge combustion exhaust outdoors through a sealed system. No additional outside-air kit is required. The fireplace may be configured for either top or rear venting, allowing the vent layout to be adapted to the structure and installation location.

The fireplace is equipped with the IntelliFire Touch intermittent-pilot ignition system, which provides electronic ignition and emergency battery-backup capability. Four AA batteries can power basic fireplace operation during an electrical outage, but batteries are not included and should not be used as the normal long-term power source. Optional control choices include the IFT-RC150 wireless wall switch, the IFT-RC400 touchscreen remote and the IFT-WFM Wi-Fi module for IntelliFire app control.

A compatible decorative barrier front is required and sold separately. Available designs include the black Essence inside-fit front; Ventura overlap fronts in black or new bronze; Manor overlap fronts in black or new bronze; and Ensemble overlap fronts with gun metal or new bronze trim. The protective mesh is incorporated into the selected front, and the fireplace must never be operated without the approved barrier correctly installed.

An unswitched 110–120 VAC electrical supply must be connected using a minimum 14-2 AWG cable with ground. The IntelliFire Touch control system operates on 6 volts and 1.5 amps. Household voltage must never be connected directly to the ignition module, gas valve or low-voltage wall control, and line-voltage and low-voltage wiring cannot share the same wall box.

Only approved non-combustible material may cover the metal face of the fireplace. Finishing materials must not overlap the glass opening, obstruct the decorative front, block airflow or prevent service access. Materials surrounding the fireplace should withstand temperatures up to 190°F, and gaps between the finished wall and the appliance top and sides must be sealed with a product rated for at least 300°F continuous exposure.

The Meridian may also be installed in a protected outdoor application when it is sheltered from direct water and the overhang dimensions in the installation manual are followed. Outdoor use may cause changes to surface finishes, and an appliance specifically designed for outdoor use is recommended for areas exposed to saltwater spray or pool chemicals.

Professional installation is required. Before initial operation, a qualified technician must verify the selected fuel model, gas pressures, electrical wiring, vent configuration, air-shutter setting, log and ember placement, glass seal and decorative barrier front. All packaging, finishing strips used as temporary installation guides and the factory splatter guard must be removed before the fireplace is operated.
