The Majestic Pioneer III Wood Burning Fireplace combines the built-in appearance of a traditional fireplace with the controlled performance of a modern high-efficiency wood heater. Model PIONEER-III-ARC includes a single classic black cast-iron arch door with ceramic glass, creating a broad view of the fire and a timeless focal point for living rooms, great rooms and other indoor spaces.

A decorative fascia is required to complete the installation and is sold separately. The PIONEER-III-ARC can be paired with the DF-PIII-FA Forged Arch Front or the DF-PIII-MA Mission Arch Front, both finished in classic black. The selected fascia must remain removable after the wall and facing materials are installed so the fireplace can be inspected and serviced.

The Pioneer III features a large 4.06-cubic-foot welded steel firebox designed for seasoned cordwood up to approximately 24 inches long. High-quality insulating firebrick lines the sides, back and floor of the firebox. Wood fires are built directly on the firebrick floor; a wood grate must not be installed or used with this fireplace.

Current model-specific technical documentation lists an EPA-tested output of approximately 18,000 BTU per hour and a calculated peak output of up to 85,175 BTU per hour. Tested efficiency is approximately 73% LHV and 68% HHV. Actual heat output and performance will vary with firewood species, moisture content, fuel load, chimney draft, home construction, climate and fireplace location.

Smart Burn Technology helps simplify startup, reloading and combustion-air management. Pressing the activation button opens the air control to its high position and illuminates a green status light, indicating that the fireplace is ready for a new fire or reload. As the fireplace warms, the system automatically manages the combustion-air setting to support cleaner, more efficient burning with less manual interaction.

The included 5 mm ceramic-glass arch door provides a clear view of the fire while supporting controlled combustion. During normal operation, the door must be fully closed and securely latched. It may be left slightly open only during the specific startup stages described in the owner’s manual. Operating with the door partly open after the fire is established can allow excessive combustion air into the firebox and increase the risk of overfiring, smoke spillage or escaping embers.

The Pioneer III includes a 400 CFM fan system with two factory-installed convection fans. Fan speed can be adjusted from the control located behind the lower access panel, and the system varies airflow in response to fireplace temperature. The fans circulate heated air into the room but require household electricity and will not operate from the emergency battery system.

Professional installation is required. Before operation, the installer must verify the supporting structure, framing, clearances, outside-air system, required fan-air return, electrical connections, hearth extension, protective strips, firebrick, baffle, ceramic blanket, front, door seal, chimney joints, firestops, attic shield, flashing and termination. The fireplace must not be operated until all required components are correctly installed.

Local codes and individual installation conditions may require different materials, components or dimensions. Always verify all technical information and follow the current Majestic installation manual, owner’s manual and instructions supplied with the selected front, chimney, hearth, air systems, Heat-Zone kit and other accessories before purchasing, framing, finishing, installing or operating the fireplace.
