The Majestic Ruby Platinum with Birch Logs Direct Vent Gas Insert transforms an existing wood-burning fireplace into a convenient, efficient and visually distinctive gas fireplace. Available in 30-inch and 35-inch sizes, this premium insert combines a bright birch-style log presentation with glowing embers, amber glass media and adjustable LED lighting to create a layered firebox display with contrasting white bark, charred detailing and warm illumination.

An included eight-piece birch log set is arranged over the burner and illuminated media bed to provide the appearance of a naturally stacked birch fire. Two five-pound bags of amber glass media are supplied with the appliance. The 30-inch model uses approximately 7.5 pounds of media, while the 35-inch model uses approximately 10 pounds. Glowing ember material adds warmth and depth around the burner flame.

Both models are factory configured for natural gas. The 30-inch insert operates from 18,900 to 27,000 BTUs, while the larger 35-inch insert delivers 22,890 to 32,700 BTUs

The IntelliFire Touch 2.0 intermittent pilot ignition system provides reliable electronic ignition and is paired with the included IFT2-RC450 touchscreen remote control. The remote provides control over fireplace operation, flame height, fan speed and LED light intensity. It also supports thermostat operation, a cold-climate pilot mode and an automatic safety shutdown after approximately nine hours of uninterrupted operation without a control command, except when operating in an applicable active thermostat mode.

A factory-installed 160 CFM fan helps circulate heated air into the room. Both flame output and fan speed can be adjusted from the included remote, making it easy to tailor the fireplace’s heat and appearance. Standard LED lights illuminate the amber glass media and can be turned on, turned off or adjusted in intensity independently through the remote.

The IntelliFire Touch system includes a USB-C emergency backup-power connection. During an electrical outage, the burner can be operated with the supplied four-AA battery backup power source for up to approximately 72 hours under documented operating conditions. Compatible USB battery packs or other suitable USB-C power sources may also be used. The fan, LED lights, Wi-Fi controls and other accessories requiring household AC power will not operate while the fireplace is powered by the battery backup source.

A compatible Majestic decorative barrier front and surround are required for operation and sold separately. Available front styles include Inside Fit, Clean Screen and Contemporary Arch designs. Small, medium, deep, large and customizable surrounds are available for fitting the insert to the existing fireplace opening. A minimum 1/2-inch opening must remain beneath the decorative front to prevent component overheating.

The insert is designed for installation into an existing solid-fuel masonry fireplace or UL 127-listed factory-built wood-burning fireplace. The existing fireplace and chimney must be inspected, cleaned and confirmed to be structurally sound and in proper working condition. The original fireplace damper must be permanently locked in the fully open position or removed. A supplied conversion notice must be permanently attached inside the existing fireplace to indicate that it has been converted for use with a gas insert.

The Ruby Platinum uses a vertical co-linear direct vent system with separate three-inch flexible liners for exhaust and combustion air. The approved vertical vent run must be at least 10 feet and may not exceed 50 feet. Horizontal termination is not permitted. The exhaust liner must connect only to the exhaust collar and the center collar of the approved termination, while the combustion-air liner must connect only to the designated inlet-air collar or terminate as specifically permitted by the installation instructions.

A continuous 110–120-volt AC electrical supply is required for normal operation of the ignition system, fan and LED lights. The included power cord may connect to an approved receptacle within the existing fireplace or be routed to a nearby outlet. The circuit must be properly grounded and must include GFCI protection where required by applicable electrical codes. Household line voltage must never be connected directly to the gas valve, low-voltage controls or appliance wall switch.

The incoming natural gas line connects to the factory-supplied flexible connector and 1/2-inch NPT manual shutoff valve. Natural gas operation requires an inlet pressure from 5 to 10 inches water column, with 7 inches water column recommended for optimum performance, and a manifold pressure of 3.5 inches water column.

The birch logs, amber glass media and glowing embers must be installed in the precise positions shown in the installation instructions. Media must not be allowed to fall onto the burner, pilot or air shutter. Embers must remain within the designated ember zone and should be placed loosely in a single layer no more than approximately 1/4 inch thick. Improper placement can interfere with ignition, flame appearance and safe burner operation.

Before initial operation, a qualified technician should confirm the vent connections, gas pressure, leak testing, electrical wiring, air-shutter setting, log and media placement, glass seal plate, fixed ceramic glass assembly and decorative safety barrier. During the initial break-in period, the fireplace should be operated continuously on high for three to four hours with adequate room ventilation, allowed to cool completely and then have the glass cleaned according to the owner’s instructions.

Important: This appliance is approved for supplemental room heat and decorative use and is not intended to serve as the home’s primary heat source. Product dimensions, fireplace opening requirements, clearances, venting configurations, gas pressures, electrical requirements, mantel placement, flooring recommendations and finishing details may vary by installation or be revised by the manufacturer. Always verify all technical, cutout, framing, venting and installation information with the current installation manual, owner’s manual, appliance rating plate and applicable local codes before ordering or installation. Installation, fuel conversion and service must be completed by a qualified professional.
