Majestic Trilliant Direct Vent Gas Insert

The Majestic Trilliant Direct Vent Gas Insert transforms an existing wood-burning fireplace into a convenient and efficient gas hearth while preserving the traditional appearance of a wood fire. Available in 25-inch, 30-inch and 35-inch sizes with dedicated natural gas and propane models, the Trilliant is designed for installation in a solid-fuel masonry fireplace or a qualifying UL 127-listed factory-built fireplace.

The Trilliant creates a realistic fireside presentation with a Canyon Brown brick refractory interior, decorative brick base, detailed log assembly, glowing ember material and durable ceramic viewing glass. The 25-inch and 30-inch inserts use seven-piece log assemblies, while the larger 35-inch model uses an eight-piece log assembly to fill its wider firebox. A required decorative barrier front protects against accidental contact with the hot glass while providing several appearance options, including Clean Screen, Forged Arch, Inside Fit, Mission Full View and Tuscan Arch styles.

Comfort and operation are managed through the included IntelliFire Touch ignition system and RC400 touchscreen remote control. The remote provides on/off control, flame-height adjustment, thermostat operation, fan-speed control, child lock, timer mode, Cold Climate pilot mode and system notifications. Every model includes a factory-installed GFK-160A variable-speed fan and heat-exchanger tubes to help move warm air into the room. The 30-inch and 35-inch models also include factory-installed accent lighting beneath the ember area; accent lighting is not offered on the 25-inch models.

Heat output varies by size and fuel. The 25-inch Trilliant operates from 18,900 to 27,000 BTU per hour with natural gas and from 17,500 to 25,000 BTU per hour with propane. The 30-inch Trilliant provides 22,890 to 32,700 BTU per hour with natural gas and 22,400 to 32,000 BTU per hour with propane. The 35-inch Trilliant operates from 24,500 to 35,000 BTU per hour with either fuel. These inserts are approved as supplemental room heaters or decorative appliances and are not intended to serve as the primary heating system for a residence.

Before installation, the existing fireplace and chimney must be inspected and cleaned. The chimney must be constructed of non-combustible materials, remain structurally sound and have properly fitted cleanout doors. The existing flue damper must be locked fully open or removed. The conversion warning label supplied with the insert must be permanently attached to the existing fireplace, identifying that it has been converted for use with a gas insert. Except for specifically permitted alterations to the firebox floor, front lip and gas-line access, the original factory-built firebox structure must not be cut or modified.

A continuous, unswitched 110-120 VAC electrical supply is required for normal IntelliFire Touch operation, the fan and the accent lights. The reset switch supplied with the surround must be connected and placed in the ON position for the insert to operate. The included USB-C battery-backup connection can power basic burner operation during an electrical outage using the supplied four-AA battery pack or another compatible backup source. Fan, accent-light and other AC-powered functions are unavailable during battery operation.

The incoming gas supply connects to the factory-provided flexible connector and 1/2-inch NPT manual shutoff valve. Minimum and maximum inlet pressure are 5.0 and 10.0 inches water column for natural gas and 11.0 and 13.0 inches water column for propane. Fuel conversions must be performed only by a qualified service technician using an approved Majestic conversion kit. The gas type shown on the appliance rating plate must match the fuel supplied to the installation.

A decorative barrier front, surround and approved vertical venting system are required to complete the installation and are sold separately. Only fronts, surrounds, controls and vent components approved by Hearth & Home Technologies may be installed. A 1/2-inch opening beneath the front must remain clear, and facing materials must not obstruct airflow or extend into the glass opening.
