Napoleon Altitude X 42-inch Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

The Napoleon Altitude X 42-Inch Direct Vent Gas Fireplace delivers the look of a traditional fireplace with modern controls and extensive finishing options. Available in natural gas (AX42NTE-2) and propane (AX42PTE-2) configurations, this built-in fireplace features a clean-face design with a full firebox flame for an open, unobstructed view of the fire.

The Altitude X 42 offers a maximum input of 38,000 BTU/hr with natural gas and 36,500 BTU/hr with propane at elevations from 0 to 4,500 feet. Napoleon's exclusive NIGHT LIGHT adds adjustable illumination to the firebox, while the flame itself can be adjusted through six levels to create anything from a low, subtle fire to a fuller flame presentation.

Fireplace operation is managed through the ProFlame II remote control and eFIRE Controller. The eFIRE system provides Bluetooth-based control of compatible fireplace functions, including on/off operation, flame height, lighting, blower control and timer scheduling. An included heat-circulating blower with variable-speed and thermostatic control provides additional flexibility, while the battery backup system maintains basic burner operation during a power interruption. Blower and NIGHT LIGHT™ operation are not available during a power failure.

The appearance of the Altitude X can be customized to suit a wide range of interiors. One High Definition log kit is required, with Birch, Driftwood and Oak options available for the 42-inch fireplace. One decorative panel option is also required to complete the firebox. Available choices include Black Illusion Glass, MIRRO-FLAME Heat Radiating Reflective Black Porcelain, Newport Standard Brick, Westminster Herringbone Brick and Westminster Standard Brick.

The fireplace uses a top-vent 5-inch exhaust / 8-inch air intake direct vent system and is also certified for use with an approved power vent system. Overall appliance dimensions are approximately 42.5 inches wide x 45.4375 inches high x 18.75 inches deep. The Altitude X is intended for indoor built-in installations and is approved for bedroom, bathroom and bed-sitting room applications as well as qualifying mobile-home installations when installed according to applicable requirements.
