Bring the look of a traditional hearth into the home with the Napoleon Element 42-Inch Built-In Electric Fireplace. Its self-trimming design includes a finished surrounding frame for a clean installation without requiring an additional trim kit, making it a practical choice for new construction, remodeling projects, mantels, and compatible existing fireplace openings.

The Element 42 combines a realistic seven-piece oak-style log set with crystal media, a glowing ember bed, and decorative brick side panels. Together, these details create the depth and familiar character of a wood-burning fireplace without the maintenance, venting, or fuel storage associated with a traditional fire.

Adjustable flame brightness and five flame-speed settings make it easy to personalize the fire display. The ember-bed lighting includes four brightness levels and a pulsing fade effect, while the overhead LED accent lighting offers seven individual and combined color settings using yellow, red, and blue. The flames and lighting can operate independently from the heater for year-round enjoyment.

The dual-voltage heater provides up to 5,000 BTUs and 1,500 watts on 120 volts. When professionally hardwired for 240-volt operation, output increases to as much as 10,000 BTUs and 3,000 watts. An adjustable thermostat offers temperature settings from 64°F to 82°F, while blower-only operation and a heater lockout provide additional comfort and control.

Fireplace functions can be adjusted from the built-in control panel or the included multifunction remote control. Available controls include power, thermostat temperature, heat, blower operation, flame brightness, flame speed, top-light color, ember-bed brightness, and an automatic timer that can be set from 30 minutes to eight hours.

The fireplace is factory wired for convenient 120-volt plug-in operation and may also be hardwired for either 120-volt or 240-volt service. Operation at 240 volts requires hardwiring by a qualified electrician. A dedicated 15-amp grounded circuit is required, and extension cords or relocatable power taps must not be used.

The Napoleon Element NEFB42H-BS-1 measures 42 1/8 inches wide by 31 7/8 inches high by 14 inches deep. The viewing area measures approximately 39 7/8 inches wide by 25 7/8 inches high, while minimum framing dimensions are 41 1/2 inches wide by 31 1/4 inches high by 13 3/4 inches deep.
