Bring a full-view flame presentation to your outdoor living space with the Napoleon Riverside 36-inch Electronic Ignition Natural Gas Outdoor Fireplace. Designed for built-in outdoor installations, this contemporary fireplace delivers up to 50,000 BTUs while providing an expansive view of the flames for patios, screened porches, gazebos, and other properly ventilated outdoor areas. This model is classified as a decorative outdoor gas appliance and is not intended to serve as a primary heating appliance.

The Riverside RSS36NE measures 42 7/16 inches wide, 37 13/16 inches high, and 18 1/8 inches deep. Its generous 36 1/8-inch by 30 1/16-inch viewing area creates a tall, open firebox presentation that keeps the flames at the center of attention. An included finishing flange helps create a clean, modern transition between the fireplace and surrounding finishing materials.

Operation is simple with electronic ignition and an included wall-mounted ON/OFF switch. The system automatically lights the pilot and burner without requiring manual pilot ignition. A high-limit safety switch provides an additional level of protection by disabling the fireplace if unsafe temperatures are detected. The appliance requires a 120-volt hardwired electrical connection, and the supplied wall-switch wiring allows the control to be positioned conveniently within the outdoor installation.

The RSS36NE provides multiple ways to customize the firebox. One compatible log set is required and sold separately. Optional interior finishes include Newport Standard Brick panels, Westminster Herringbone Brick panels, and MIRRO-FLAME porcelain reflective radiant panels. 

The RSS36NE is for outdoor use only and should be installed in a sheltered location whenever possible. The outdoor living area must provide adequate ventilation, including at least 30 percent of its perimeter permanently open and unobstructed. Although designed for outdoor installation, the appliance is not waterproof and must be properly enclosed, finished, sealed, and drained according to the installation instructions. A qualified gas installer and qualified electrician should complete all gas and electrical connections.
