Napoleon Riverside 42-inch Electronic Ignition Natural Gas Outdoor Fireplace

Create a dramatic focal point for your patio, screened porch, gazebo, or other properly ventilated outdoor living area with the Napoleon Riverside 42-inch Electronic Ignition Natural Gas Outdoor Fireplace. This built-in decorative gas fireplace features a broad, tall firebox and a 60,000-BTU maximum input rating, producing a vibrant flame presentation designed to enhance the atmosphere of an outdoor gathering space.

The Riverside RSS42NE measures 48 7/16 inches wide, 40 13/16 inches high, and 18 1/8 inches deep. Its expansive 42 3/16-inch wide by 33 1/16-inch high viewing area provides a full view of the flames, while the included finishing flange helps create a clean, contemporary transition between the fireplace and surrounding finishing materials.

Operation is simple with electronic ignition and an included wall-mounted ON/OFF switch. When activated, the ignition system automatically sparks and lights the pilot before starting the main burner, eliminating the need to light the pilot by hand. A high-limit safety switch adds another level of protection by disabling the fireplace if unsafe temperatures are detected. The appliance requires a 120-volt hardwired electrical connection, and a 20-foot control wire is supplied for positioning the wall switch.

The RSS42NE can be customized with one of three model-specific log options. Choose the Standard Oak Log Kit, High Definition Birch Log Kit, or High Definition Split Oak Log Kit. One compatible log set is required and sold separately. Optional firebox finishes include Newport Standard Brick panels, Westminster Herringbone Brick panels, and MIRRO-FLAME porcelain reflective radiant panels.

The RSS42NE is a decorative gas appliance intended for outdoor use only and is not designed for use as a heating appliance. The outdoor living area must provide adequate ventilation, with at least 30 percent of its horizontal perimeter permanently open and unobstructed. The fireplace is outdoor rated but is not waterproof; it must be properly enclosed, sealed, finished, and drained according to the installation instructions. Furniture and other objects must remain at least 48 inches from the front of the appliance. Gas and electrical work should be completed by qualified professionals in accordance with applicable codes.
